A&M Capital Europe Takes Over Isla Délice from Perwyn
European private equity firm Perwyn has confirmed the sale of its stake in halal meat producer Isla Délice to A&M Capital Europe. Established in 1990, Isla Délice offers an extensive range of halal delicatessen products, frozen items, snacks, prepared meals, and shelf-stable food categories. The company manages seven brands within its portfolio, with Isla Délice serving as its primary flagship brand.
Seven Years of Growth Under Perwyn Ownership
Perwyn took majority ownership of Isla Délice from its founding team and French private equity house IDI in 2018. The company credits this acquisition with enabling it to pursue new opportunities and achieve remarkable advancements across multiple business areas.
Key developments during Perwyn’s tenure included ongoing business professionalization, substantial capital deployment into manufacturing facilities, and three strategic acquisitions spanning the UK, Belgium, and Germany. The company launched an internationalization initiative that transformed it from a solely French operation into one generating revenue across the three acquired markets, plus the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy through organic expansion.
Heinz Holsten and John Gallagher, representing Perwyn’s investment team and serving as Isla Délice board members, expressed that the successful transition to A&M Capital Europe demonstrates the quality of Isla Délice. They noted their admiration for the dedication shown by the management team under Eric Fauchon’s leadership and the wider organization. They emphasized their pride in transforming Isla Délice from an owner-managed French leader into a halal specialist operating across multiple European markets with professional management. They expressed confidence that the company will continue to flourish under its new partnership with A&M Capital Europe.
Strategic Investment and Future Direction
Eric Fauchon, CEO of Isla Délice, acknowledged that Perwyn’s support had been crucial to the company’s growth, with over €40 million invested in production facilities and new capacities to better serve consumers. He explained that expansion was achieved through both organic growth in the Benelux, Spain, and Italy, and strategic acquisitions in Belgium, the UK, and Germany, which strengthened the company’s European footprint.
Fauchon expressed gratitude to the Perwyn team and all employees for their contributions to the company’s achievements. He indicated that with A&M Capital Europe’s backing, the company will continue developing its presence in France and throughout Europe, broadening its product offerings and distribution networks while maintaining its specialized expertise in halal products that has been its competitive advantage for 35 years. He expressed confidence that this new phase will enable the company to serve consumer needs more effectively.
