Saudi Stock Market Closes in Negative Territory as Tadawul All Share Slips 0.14%
JAKARTA – Saudi Arabian equities ended Thursday’s trading session in the red, with declines across cement, hospitality and tourism, and construction sectors pulling the broader market downward.
The Tadawul All Share index finished the day with a 0.14% decline, reflecting modest losses across key sectors of the Saudi economy.
Top Performers Lead Gains
Several companies demonstrated strong performance during the session. Saudi Industrial Export Co emerged as the day’s biggest winner, climbing 6.60% to close at 2.10 SAR with a gain of 0.13 points.
Consolidated Grunenfelder Saady Holding Co followed with a 6.43% increase, adding 0.58 points to finish at 9.60 SAR. Raoom Trading Company SJSC rounded out the top performers, advancing 4.36% or 2.55 points to reach 61.05 SAR.
Notable Decliners
On the losing side, Methanol Chemicals Company suffered the session’s steepest fall, dropping 5.96% to close at 7.41 SAR—marking a historic low for the company with a loss of 0.47 points.
Flynas Company SJSC declined 5.43%, shedding 3.50 points to end at 61.00 SAR. Leejam Sports Company SJSC also posted significant losses, falling 5.00% or 5.30 points to 100.80 SAR—a 52-week low for the fitness chain operator.
Market Breadth
The Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange saw 184 stocks decline compared to 143 that advanced, while 19 securities remained unchanged, indicating broader negative sentiment across the market.
Commodity and Currency Markets
In commodities trading, February crude oil contracts edged down 0.09% to $58.35 per barrel. Brent crude for February delivery fell 0.14% to $62.29 per barrel. February Gold Futures remained flat at $4,505.40 per troy ounce.
Currency pairs showed minimal movement, with EUR/SAR up slightly by 0.06% to 4.42, while USD/SAR held steady at 3.75. The US Dollar Index Futures gained 0.04% to reach 97.65.
