JAKARTA<\/strong> – The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology has declared its dedication to strengthening partnerships among State University Hospitals (RSPTN) with the goal of enhancing educational programs, research initiatives, and healthcare delivery while establishing their presence on the international arena.<\/p>\n

This commitment was announced during the 2025 National Congress of the Association of State University Hospitals (ARSPTN) and the 6th Annual RSPTN Meeting, which took place at the University of Indonesia Hospital and UI Special Dental and Oral Hospital on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Vision for Global Competition<\/h2>\n

Minister Brian Yuliarto emphasized on Monday that the healthcare sector’s unique characteristics and wealth of data present opportunities for global competitiveness. “Our teaching hospitals must be equipped with top-tier talent to compete internationally,” he stated.<\/p>\n

The minister stressed the importance of transforming RSPTN into centers for cross-disciplinary cooperation, serving as accessible research facilities for various fields including medicine, engineering, and other scientific disciplines.<\/p>\n

“Indonesia possesses a strategic advantage due to its equatorial location. The prevalence of certain diseases here should catalyze innovation and research that can benefit multiple academic fields,” Yuliarto explained.<\/p>\n

Technology and Innovation Focus<\/h2>\n

Yuliarto encouraged the integration of big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare research to facilitate advancements in medical equipment and health technology, thereby decreasing dependence on imported medical products.<\/p>\n

In alignment with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita development framework, the ministry has set an ambitious target for RSPTN to achieve international standards within a three to five-year timeframe.<\/p>\n

The minister called upon universities, healthcare professionals, researchers, industry partners, and local government entities to collaborate in enhancing RSPTN’s capacity and reputation.<\/p>\n

“RSPTN must evolve into world-class institutions. Partnerships with prestigious institutions such as Harvard, the National University of Singapore (NUS), and other leading universities are within reach,” he added.<\/p>\n

Strategic Role in Healthcare<\/h2>\n

ARSPTN Chairman Nasronudin highlighted the unrealized potential of university hospitals in the country. “RSPTN occupies a strategic position in unifying education, research, and healthcare services, encompassing emerging areas such as robotics and stem cell research,” he noted.<\/p>\n

He further emphasized that the adaptable nature of RSPTN enables these institutions to support government initiatives and address community healthcare requirements effectively.<\/p>\n

This initiative represents a significant step toward positioning Indonesia’s state university hospitals as competitive players in the global healthcare and medical education landscape, while simultaneously addressing domestic healthcare needs through innovation and research.<\/p>\n
