Bangsamoro Region Targets Stronger Halal Positioning<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has introduced a comprehensive five-year halal roadmap designed to position the region as the leading hub of a globally competitive halal industry in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT), through collaboration with multiple BARMM agencies, has developed the Bangsamoro Halal Industry Development Plan (BHIDP) 2025\u20132030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Driving Investment, Quality, and Compliance<\/b><\/h2>\n

MTIT Minister Farserina Mohammad, who also heads the Bangsamoro Halal Board, stated that the roadmap outlines priority regulations, programs, and activities to strengthen the halal ecosystem and secure BARMM\u2019s share in the global market. She emphasized that the region aims to attract investment and reinforce \u201cquality, integrity, and compliance\u201d across the halal value chain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Global Halal Market Growth Presents Major Opportunity<\/b><\/h2>\n

The worldwide halal economy is valued at over US$2 trillion and continues to expand, with projections nearing US$2.8 trillion in the coming years. Statista data shows the global Muslim population has reached approximately 1.6 billion, contributing to rising demand for halal goods and services.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Milestone for Sustainable and Faith-Aligned Growth<\/b><\/h2>\n

During the roadmap launch in Cotabato City, Mohammad described the completion of the BHIDP as a historic step for inclusive and sustainable economic development grounded in Islamic values. She noted that halal industries now cover diverse sectors including food, agriculture, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, logistics, tourism, fisheries, and services.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the Bangsamoro region, Mohammad highlighted that halal carries deeper meaning: \u201cIt is our identity, our heritage, and our comparative advantage.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Positioning BARMM in National and Regional Markets<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority Director General Mohajirin Ali affirmed that the roadmap signals BARMM\u2019s readiness to play a more active role in the halal economy, not only within the region, but across the Philippines and Southeast Asia.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said the roadmap sends a strong message to the national market, ASEAN neighbors, the BIMP-EAGA sub-region, and global partners that BARMM is prepared to contribute to halal sector growth through credible standards, sound planning, and broad stakeholder participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Strategic Framework for Sustainable Growth<\/b><\/h2>\n

Ali added that the BHIDP establishes a forward-looking economic framework designed to strengthen vitality, sustainability, and competitiveness. As global halal demand rapidly evolves, the roadmap offers BARMM strategic direction and long-term positioning within an expanding international market.<\/span><\/p>\n
