Sizzling Bites Halal Grill Announces Expansion Across Pennsylvania

The popular halal dining establishment Sizzling Bites is set to broaden its presence throughout Pennsylvania with multiple upcoming restaurant openings in the coming months.

Palmer Township Location Opening

The newest Sizzling Bites location will begin operations on Tuesday, August 12th at 1:00 PM in Palmer Township’s 25th Street Shopping Plaza, located at 2429 Nazareth Road in Northampton County. Restaurant owner Abdul S. Wali announced that a celebratory grand opening event is scheduled for September 5th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, featuring complimentary chicken platters for attendees. The Palmer Township establishment was initially scheduled to launch on July 21st, but unforeseen construction complications resulted in a postponement of the opening date.

Additional Expansion Plans

Abdul Wali, age 19, along with his father Mohammad Wali, are preparing to launch another location in Muhlenberg Township, Berks County. This restaurant is tentatively planned to open on September 15th at 1:00 PM in the Plaza 222 shopping center at 3225 North Fifth Street Highway. The family’s expansion strategy also includes a third location in Scranton, Lackawanna County, which is expected to begin operations in October.

Restaurant Concept and Menu

– Dining Experience and Food Offerings

Sizzling Bites specializes in customizable, freshly-prepared meals featuring a fast-casual dining format that offers dine-in, takeout, and delivery options to accommodate various customer preferences. The establishment’s diverse menu includes signature smash burgers and gyros, chicken tenders and wings, loaded fries and loaded mac and cheese, along with various rice platters featuring choice of proteins such as grilled chicken, fried tenders, lamb/beef, fish, falafel, or combination options. Customers can also enjoy fresh salads and dessert selections including baklava, churros, carrot cake, and tres leches cake.

– Food Preparation Philosophy

All ingredients are prepared fresh on-site using family recipes, with halal-certified meat throughout the menu. Customers can customize their orders with different spice levels and house-made sauces including signature, white, hot, barbecue, and green varieties. The restaurant features hot and cold bars that allow patrons to view ingredients during the ordering process, ensuring transparency in food preparation.

Origin Story

The Wali family relocated from Afghanistan to the United States approximately four years ago, initially settling in New York before moving to Bethlehem. During their time in New York, Abdul gained valuable restaurant experience working in various roles including server and chef positions. The family’s first Sizzling Bites location opened in May 2024 at 312 E. Third St. Suite 102 in south Bethlehem, and this original restaurant has achieved significant success, particularly among Lehigh University students and local residents seeking late-night dining options.

Business Philosophy and Future Vision

Abdul credits his father’s encouragement for helping him pursue restaurant ownership at a young age, explaining that after high school graduation discussions, the father-son duo determined that restaurant operation aligned better with Abdul’s interests than traditional college education. The young entrepreneur views Sizzling Bites as fulfilling his dream of operating his own establishment while serving fresh, homemade food to community members. He identified a need for this type of quick-service, customizable cuisine in the Lehigh Valley area, which has contributed to the success of their original location.

Operating Hours

The Bethlehem location operates from 11 AM to 2 AM Sunday through Thursday and 11 AM to 3 AM Friday and Saturday. The new Palmer Township location will accommodate 56 guests in a renovated space situated between Advance Auto Parts and Grocery Outlet stores, operating from 10 AM to 11 PM Sunday through Thursday and 10 AM to 1 AM Friday and Saturday.
