Saudi Arabia Faces Widespread Thunderstorms: Warning for Indonesian Pilgrims
JAKARTA – Saudi Arabia’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued warnings about extensive thunderstorms expected to continue through Thursday, December 11, bringing heavy rainfall and hazardous conditions across most regions of the kingdom.
According to reports shared on Gulf Insider’s Instagram account, this weather system is anticipated to affect numerous provinces including Asir, Al Baha, Mecca, Medina, Tabuk, Hail, Qassim, Jazan, Al Jouf, the Northern Border region, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province.
The meteorological center noted that while storm intensity will vary across different areas, many regions should prepare for severe weather conditions. Nearly every major province in Saudi Arabia is expected to experience some impact from these storms.
In light of these conditions, the NCM has issued several safety recommendations for residents and visitors. The center urges people to stay informed about weather developments, avoid unnecessary travel during adverse conditions, and take preventative measures in areas susceptible to flash flooding.
The meteorological authority emphasized the importance of following official updates through the center’s website, social media channels, and the Anwaa weather application to stay current with rapidly changing conditions.
This weather alert is particularly relevant for Indonesian citizens performing Umrah pilgrimage, who should exercise extra caution and monitor weather conditions closely during their travels in the affected regions.
