Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia Unite to Strengthen Football Development Through New Partnership

JAKARTA – The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) and Saudi Arabian Football Federation have formalized their collaboration by signing a comprehensive football cooperation memorandum in Jeddah on January 7.

KFU President Kamchybek Tashiev and his Saudi counterpart Yasser Al Misehal put pen to paper on the agreement, which represents a significant step forward for Kyrgyz football development, according to reports from The Caspian Post citing Kyrgyz media sources.

The partnership is designed to elevate football standards in Kyrgyzstan by incorporating global best practices and strengthening the competitive capabilities of national squads. As part of the collaboration, friendly matches between the two nations’ women’s and youth teams are scheduled for 2026 and 2027.

The memorandum encompasses a wide range of football development areas, including the sharing of sports-related data, enhancement of football administration systems, advancement of refereeing standards, coaching education programs, technical progress initiatives, and the coordination of competitive events.

President Tashiev’s visit to Saudi Arabia includes attending matches at the U-23 Asian Cup currently taking place in Jeddah, marking an important diplomatic and sporting engagement for Kyrgyzstan.

This agreement represents a meaningful commitment by both federations to foster growth and excellence in football through mutual cooperation and knowledge exchange.
