Khazna Data Centers Appoints Mohammed Bin Hassan to Lead Saudi Arabia Operations
JAKARTA – Khazna Data Centers, a prominent player in global hyperscale digital infrastructure, has announced the appointment of Mohammed Bin Hassan as its new Country Head for Saudi Arabia, signaling a major expansion in the Kingdom’s data center landscape.
Strategic Leadership Appointment
The appointment comes on the heels of Khazna’s acquisition of a substantial 225,000 square meter land parcel in Dammam, designated for developing local data center infrastructure. Bin Hassan will be tasked with expanding Khazna’s footprint in Saudi Arabia, cultivating relationships with domestic clients, and supporting sustainable infrastructure development aligned with Vision 2030 goals.
Extensive Experience in Digital Transformation
Bin Hassan brings more than 20 years of expertise in digital transformation and national technology initiatives across both government and private sectors in Saudi Arabia. His previous roles include Chief Digital Officer at a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, where he introduced the organization’s inaugural Digital Strategy.
He also contributed to Vision 2030, spearheading a SAR 6 billion Fourth Industrial Revolution strategy focused on advancing industrial development and innovation.
Ambitious Development Plans
At Khazna, Bin Hassan will manage the rollout of the company’s Dammam facility, which will feature up to 200 MW of AI-ready infrastructure capacity. The data centers will support Saudi Arabia’s sovereign infrastructure requirements and national development priorities.
Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers, emphasized Saudi Arabia’s strong digital and AI infrastructure foundation built over the past decade, noting the Kingdom’s top-tier global rankings in digital government services and open-data metrics.
“With Mohammed now leading our operations in Saudi Arabia, we have the right expertise to help the country achieve its national AI goals as complementary partners,” Alnaqbi stated.
Regional Infrastructure Expansion
Khazna currently operates 30 active data centers across multiple markets, managing nearly 650 MW of energy-efficient capacity. The company is developing over 1 GW of additional AI-ready capacity across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Italy, and other strategic locations.
The Dammam facility will feature modular architecture designed for scalability and flexibility, capable of supporting various high-performance workloads for cloud and AI hyperscale deployments. The design incorporates GPU cluster configurations for AI applications with varying rack weights and power requirements.
The facility will also implement advanced sustainability measures to minimize energy consumption and carbon emissions, targeting LEED Gold certification standards.
