Residents of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District have shown increased interest in halal food products. The region has experienced a substantial growth in demand for halal-certified items and healthy eating options. According to the Surgut District Herald, citing retail network data, halal product sales have increased by 50% compared to 2024.

Health-Conscious Food Trends Gain Momentum

The term “halal” primarily refers to food that is properly prepared and permissible for Muslims to consume. However, alongside the growing interest in such products, regional residents have also begun choosing additive-free foods, frozen poultry, and healthy snacks more frequently, as reported by Sibmedia. Demand for protein bars, urbech, and similar products has grown by 70%.

Restaurant Inspections Continue Amid Market Growth

Meanwhile, inspections of cafes and restaurants continue in the region, with police officers conducting raids at food establishments to verify the legal employment status of migrant workers. As previously reported, violations have already been identified at three employers, who may face significant fines or business suspension.
