Indonesia is working to establish itself as a major global force in the halal industry by creating a comprehensive and competitive halal market ecosystem. This initiative was highlighted during a media and influencer event organized by Dyandra Promosindo in Jakarta on July 17, 2025, which focused on Indonesia’s journey toward becoming an international halal center.

The gathering served as a preview for the upcoming Halal Indo 2025 exhibition, set to run from September 25-28, 2025, at ICE BSD City in Tangerang. This exhibition is designed to showcase a modern, environmentally sustainable halal industry that meets international standards and supports Indonesia’s goal of becoming a premier destination for halal goods and services.

Kris Sasono Ngudi Wibowo from the Ministry of Industry’s Halal Industry Center stressed the need to capitalize on the growing global halal economy. He outlined the government’s multi-faceted approach, which includes enhancing regulatory frameworks, building halal infrastructure, helping small and medium enterprises obtain halal certification, fostering innovation, expanding exports, and building international partnerships. The strategy also encompasses the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards and participation in worldwide exhibitions.

This year’s event particularly emphasizes attracting international buyers to generate concrete business deals and commitments. Muhammad Adi Yasir from Paragon Corp noted that the exhibition presents valuable opportunities for market growth and strategic partnerships, while emphasizing the company’s dedication to making a positive impact across the halal industry and Indonesia’s economy.

Exhibition Scope and Expansion

The 2025 exhibition will expand beyond traditional sectors like food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and fashion to include new areas such as education, tourism, and Islamic finance. Project Manager Ismi Puspita revealed plans for 387 exhibition booths covering nearly 3,886 square meters, with expectations of 13,000 attendees and $380 million in business deals.

The event will offer various activities including business coaching sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and the main industry expo.
