Pinmour Biomedical Beauty and Health Products Obtain “Halal Certification” – Company Announces ASEAN Market Expansion

Taiwanese biomedical direct sales brand “Pinmour” Group is planning to enter ASEAN markets. After spending nearly a year adjusting the formulas of their beauty and health products, all products recently passed rigorous testing and auditing, successfully obtaining “Halal Certification.” The group also announced plans to expand into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, by year-end to promote international business, demonstrating corporate ambition while becoming a pioneer in the direct sales industry.

Company Performance and Growth

Pinmour Group CEO Gao Zixiang stated that after more than three years since the direct sales brand’s establishment, it now has over 100,000 users. Last year’s revenue exceeded NT$1.2 billion, with cumulative total revenue surpassing NT$2 billion. Domestic revenue continues to grow robustly year after year with outstanding performance, and they will continue to strive forward.

Strategic Market Expansion Decision

Gao Zixiang decided to promote products to overseas international markets. After evaluation, the ASEAN 10 countries, including Malaysia, have nearly 400 million Muslims, accounting for one-quarter of global Muslims. With the rise of middle-class consumers with purchasing power, plus Taiwan’s close geographical proximity and convenient trade relations, beauty and health products seeking market share needed to quickly obtain the “Halal Certification” that Muslim countries highly value.

Certification Process Challenges

“Formula adjustment alone took nearly a year,” Gao Zixiang said. “Halal” means “lawful” or “permitted (by Allah).” The “Halal Certification” process is quite rigorous, following halal standards.

Health and cosmetic products and raw materials must undergo testing through third-party impartial organizations commissioned by the “Taiwan Halal Integrity Development Association” (THIDA), “Taipei Grand Mosque,” or “Chinese Muslim Association.” This involves nine major testing categories: microbiology, animal-derived components, alcohol detection, additives, GMO testing, pesticide residues, veterinary drugs, nutritional labeling, and pharmaceutical ingredients.

Quality Assurance Standards

These tests ensure that raw material supply, production, storage, distribution, sales, labeling, and consumer delivery methods all comply with Muslim institutional standards, with processes meeting management and quality assurance requirements.

Implementation Difficulties and Success

Gao Zixiang explained that to pass “Halal Certification,” Pinmour’s R&D personnel went through the entire process from application submission, document review, site inspection, review meetings, to final contract signing and certification. The journey was quite challenging because obtaining “Halal Certification” for health and cosmetic products is extremely difficult.

All staff truly dedicated themselves, studying relevant regulations and making adjustments. In less than a year, they successfully obtained certification for over 20 full product lines, making the first breakthrough in the live-streaming industry. When news arrived, it greatly excited over 4,000 business partners. This also means that year-end expansion plans for the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia branch and overseas revenue growth are expected to proceed more smoothly.
