The Halal Guys Expand Their Footprint in Greater Boston

New Location, Bigger Reach

The Halal Guys, the popular American halal-cuisine chain, is increasing its presence in the Boston area with a new branch opening in Dedham, Massachusetts, at 799 Providence Hwy on Saturday.

To celebrate, the first 10 guests each day during the opening week will receive a free small platter, and the next 50 guests on the grand opening day will also be treated to a free platter.

A Brand with Roots and Ambitions

Founded in 1990 by Egyptian immigrants, The Halal Guys began as a street‐food cart in New York City and has since evolved into a global franchise known for its halal platters and sandwiches.

Margaret Carrera, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, said the brand is thrilled by the strong support it has already received in the Boston market and is excited to continue growing in the region.

Strategic Local Growth

The Dedham branch is operated by franchisees Imran Asghar and Jamal Bourote, who have been bringing The Halal Guys into Massachusetts since 2017.

This new location joins several other outlets in the Greater Boston area, as part of the brand’s plan to deepen its regional footprint.

What This Growth Signals

The expansion in Boston reflects a broader trend: The Halal Guys are actively pursuing growth both domestically and internationally. In August 2025 they announced an expanded franchise program to support development in multiple U.S. states and abroad.

This aligns with the growing mainstream appeal of halal food in U.S. foodservice and the restaurant industry’s recognition of halal as a significant growth segment.
