Leaders from Arab and Islamic nations will gather in São Paulo, Brazil, on Monday and Tuesday for the Third Global Halal Trade Forum. Jointly hosted by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce with the FAMBRAS Halal Certification Center, the event seeks to strengthen global cooperation in the fast-growing halal economy.
Unlocking New Frontiers in the Halal Market
The forum aims to explore fresh opportunities and emerging trends in the global halal industry, projected to reach nearly two trillion dollars in production value by 2028. Participants will discuss strategies to boost innovation, trade networks, and investment across halal sectors.
Voices Shaping the Future of Halal Trade
Khaled Hanafy, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, will deliver the opening remarks and lead a session on “Strategic Partnerships between Brazil and Islamic Countries.” Topics will include renewable energy, halal supply chains, and Brazil’s expanding role as a global halal export center.
Featured speakers include Youssef Al-Harbi, Deputy Head of the Saudi Halal Center; Yousef Khalawi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development; and Ihsan Ouat, Secretary-General of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries in Istanbul.
Diplomatic Ties Strengthened Through Shared Vision
The opening session will welcome Ibrahim Al-Zeben, Palestinian Ambassador and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Brasília. Recorded messages from Brazil’s Acting President Geraldo Alckmin and Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira will highlight national support for halal sector growth.
Green Halal: Merging Faith with Sustainability
This year’s theme, “Green Halal,” spotlights environmental responsibility in halal production and trade. Alongside the main discussions, the event will feature the signing of cooperation agreements, the release of new publications, and a halal-focused reception connecting industry leaders.
