BSSN Officially Establishes Cyber Security Team to Protect National Halal Certification Services

JAKARTA – In an effort to strengthen digital defense for public services, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) officially inaugurated the Cyber Incident Response Team (TTIS) of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) on Monday at the BSSN office in Depok, West Java.

The inauguration of the team, also known as the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), represents a strategic initiative to fortify the digital infrastructure managing data and halal certification services in Indonesia.

Commitment to Protecting Halal Service Data

Ahmad Haikal Hasan, Head of BPJPH RI, emphasized that the formation of this team reflects his agency’s seriousness in building a reliable and secure halal service ecosystem. “We are committed to delivering a halal service system that is not only dependable but also well-protected, in accordance with public data integrity and security standards,” he explained.

Furthermore, Haikal added that this step is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance cyber resilience, particularly for halal certification services. This initiative also aims to strengthen BPJPH’s digital readiness in supporting the transformation of information technology-based public services.

Three Pillars of Cyber Security

BSSN Head Nugroho Sulistyo Budi stressed the urgency of preventing manipulation, theft, destruction, and takeover of data by irresponsible parties. According to him, strengthening cyber security in government agencies must be based on three fundamental pillars: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability.

“These three CIA Triad principles form the foundation for digital systems to continue protecting data, maintaining accuracy, and ensuring accessibility for authorized users,” he stated.

The implementation of these principles is considered crucial for guaranteeing the security of technology-based public services, including halal certification systems. By maintaining aspects of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, government agencies are expected to increase public trust while strengthening cyber resilience sustainably.

Synergy for Critical Infrastructure

Nugroho added that protecting critical government information infrastructure requires comprehensive collaboration between government, industry sectors, and society. With the establishment of BPJPH’s TTIS, the integrated halal certification service system is expected to become increasingly robust against various cyber threats and attacks.

BPJPH’s TTIS will serve as the frontline in detecting, preventing, and responding to cyber security incidents within the BPJPH environment. This step is part of BPJPH’s strategy to strengthen information technology governance, expand cooperation with national security agencies, and ensure the sustainability of halal services that are responsive, trustworthy, and adaptive to digital security challenges.

The inauguration of BPJPH’s TTIS marks a new chapter in strengthening the national halal service digitalization system, while supporting the government’s mission toward a safe, resilient, and sustainable public service ecosystem.
