The Grandeur of Creation and Our Responsibility

The heavens and the earth are indeed true manifestations of the creation of Allah Azza wa Jalla. Every element of His creation—from the towering mountain ranges to the vastness of the seas and skies—is insufficient to fully describe His greatness. As Allah mentions in the Qur’an:

“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, there are signs for those of understanding.” (QS. Ali ‘Imran: 190)

This verse signifies that everything occurring in nature is inseparable from His Will. Every detail of Allah’s creation—whether visible to the naked eye or only through a microscope or telescope—contains unparalleled perfection. There is not a single element of nature created in vain, let alone by mistake.

Allah Azza wa Jalla says:

“[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So look again: do you see any breaks?” (QS. Al-Mulk: 3)

This verse emphasizes that the perfection of creation is a testament to His omnipotence and majesty. By contemplating these signs, we are invited to live with gratitude and constant admiration for the greatness of Allah in every breath of life.

Our Role as Stewards of the Earth

It is vital to raise awareness about maintaining and preserving our environment, as it is also the creation of Allah. Nowadays, many people ignore environmental sustainability in pursuit of natural resources for their own profit. This reckless behavior leads to the depletion of resources and endangers human life. Such actions deviate from Islamic values, as Allah mentions in the Qur’an:

“And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.”  (QS. Al-A’raf: 56)

Every human being is strongly reminded not to cause any form of mischief on earth, including environmental destruction, because Allah is the one who created and guards it. Islam teaches us that protecting and maintaining Allah’s creation is a way of honoring the One Whom we worship.
