On April 20, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) had the pleasure of hosting Dilsad Senol, the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Her visit aimed to enhance trade relations and explore new economic partnerships between Pakistan and TRNC.

Productive Discussions

During her meeting with RCCI President Usman Shaukat, the two leaders engaged in fruitful discussions about boosting bilateral trade. Shaukat emphasized RCCI’s efforts to promote regional trade and diversify into sectors like pharmaceuticals, marble, gemstones, halal meat, and tourism. He stressed the importance of exchanging trade delegations to uncover new opportunities for collaboration.

Exploring New Sectors

Ambassador Senol, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Yasar Yilancilar, expressed TRNC’s strong interest in expanding trade with Pakistan. She identified several key sectors for potential cooperation, including agriculture, construction, tourism, education, dairy, and citrus production.

Educational Connections

The ambassador highlighted the existing educational ties between the two nations, noting that over 20 universities in TRNC host more than 3,000 Pakistani students. She pointed out that the shared cultural and religious values between Pakistan and TRNC create a solid foundation for successful economic partnerships.

A Collaborative Future

The meeting also included RCCI Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Vice President Fahad Barlas, Former President Raja Amir Iqbal, and other members of the RCCI Executive Committee. RCCI remains committed to fostering international cooperation, strengthening global business connections, and creating new opportunities for the Pakistani business community.
