Jakarta, Indonesia – Asia’s premier food and beverage trade exhibition wrapped up its latest edition in Bangkok last week, delivering unprecedented global participation and generating substantial business transactions across international markets. The event attracted 88,349 distinct trade professionals, industry executives, innovation leaders, and senior management representatives from 143 countries and territories, all converging to explore emerging food technologies and establish cross-border commercial partnerships.

Expanding International Footprint

The 2025 edition, jointly organized by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse, demonstrated remarkable growth in international participation. The exhibition hosted 3,231 companies representing more than 57 nations and regions, showcasing the event’s evolution into a truly global marketplace.

Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Vice President for Asia-Pacific at Koelnmesse, emphasized the exhibition’s strategic importance: “THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA has established itself as the premier food and beverage exhibition in Asia, with international exhibitors comprising more than two-thirds of our participants, cementing our role as both a regional frontrunner and global strategic nexus. We’re already receiving advance applications from companies eager to participate next year, including returning exhibitors who have achieved significant business growth and network expansion beyond their home regions.”

Breakthrough Market Participation

This year marked the debut of companies from 10 previously unrepresented markets spanning Central Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Notable first-time participants included Monte Rosso from Slovenia and Lindo Confectionery from Uzbekistan. The exhibition also featured new national pavilions from Australia, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands, further diversifying the event’s international sourcing landscape.

Substantial Business Outcomes

Exhibitors across the venue reported impressive commercial results spanning multiple geographical regions. The diversity of successful transactions demonstrates the exhibition’s effectiveness as a global business platform.

Daniel Do Minh Ramos, Sales Manager at Empresas Aquachile S.A., reported exceptional networking success: “Throughout the exhibition period, we conducted over 100 business meetings and successfully negotiated new agreements with partners across Southeast Asia, Bangladesh, Australia, India, and Israel, representing combined deal values of USD 1 million.”

Nam Viet Foods & Beverage JSC experienced similar success, with Sales Director Steve Pham highlighting their market expansion: “Our participation in THAIFEX-ANUGA ASIA has enabled us to present our product portfolio to previously untapped global customers. This year’s achievements include securing 8 new clients from West Africa, Europe, and the United States, who have placed orders for 25 containers valued at USD 500,000. We continue receiving inquiries from potential partners and anticipate finalizing additional agreements following the exhibition.”

Brazilian company WTS Trade discovered unexpected market opportunities, as explained by Accounts Director Antonio Carlos di Gaspero: “While we initially focused on promoting our panettone products, we were surprised by the substantial interest in our Brazilian protein offerings, including fish, pork, and beef varieties. We’ve established six promising business relationships with prominent companies from the Maldives, Japan, the Philippines, and a major Thai supermarket chain. One partnership has already materialized into a confirmed USD 45,000 contract.”

Strategic Buyer Engagement

The exhibition’s impact was amplified through its comprehensive Trade Mission and Hosted Buyers initiative, which facilitated participation from over 2,117 industry leaders, emerging market players, and key decision-makers representing more than 40 countries and regions. These participants engaged in carefully orchestrated pre-scheduled meetings, with many attending for the first time from markets including Indochina. The organizers strategically curated these interactions to optimize participant matching and enhance business outcomes.

Product Innovation Platform

Several exhibitors strategically chose THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA as their preferred venue for launching new products, recognizing the exhibition’s emphasis on future food trends and innovation. This positioning reinforces the event’s role not merely as a trade show but as a catalyst for industry advancement.

Culinary Excellence Recognition

The concurrent 11th Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge, endorsed by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies, showcased 452 professional and aspiring culinary talents, including university students from various nations such as Pakistan. Participants had the opportunity to earn certification from the World Association of Chefs’ Societies, demonstrating that THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA extends beyond commercial transactions to nurture future culinary professionals.

Future Expansion Plans

Looking ahead, THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2026 is scheduled for May 26-30, 2026, with organizers promising an enhanced experience featuring expanded facilities. The addition of an extra exhibition hall will specifically highlight commercially viable innovations and emerging trends, reinforcing the show’s commitment to driving the next phase of food and beverage industry growth throughout Asia.

The continued expansion and success of this international trade platform reflects the dynamic nature of Asia’s food and beverage sector and its increasing integration with global markets. As companies seek new opportunities for growth and innovation, events like THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA serve as crucial catalysts for international business development and technological advancement in the food industry.
