Ukraine to Broaden Halal Product Market Access to Three Additional Countries

| By Odessa

The State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection is pursuing expanded accreditation capabilities in halal certification services.

Service Director Serhiy Tkachuk announced this development during discussions with representatives from halal product certification organizations, as reported by the agency’s communications office.

Participants explored strategies for enhanced collaboration to enable Ukrainian manufacturers to export goods internationally without barriers. In numerous nations, especially throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, halal certification is a compulsory requirement for food product sales.

This certification verifies that products comply with the standards and cultural practices of countries requiring it. Manufacturers can obtain certification either through official government agencies in the destination country or through recognized halal certification bodies operating in other nations.

“Ukrainian manufacturers currently have access to halal certification services for exports to several countries where Sharia principles apply. However, we continue advancing beyond current achievements by working to expand export destinations and secure or broaden halal certification accreditations, specifically targeting markets including Singapore, Indonesia, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and additional territories,” Serhiy Tkachuk highlighted.

The meeting concluded with commitments to maintain ongoing communication and collaborative efforts to ensure Ukrainian products reach consumers across diverse international markets.
