The upcoming Kazan Halal Expo and the XVI International Economic Forum, titled ‘Russia — Islamic World: Kazan,’ are set to take place from May 13 to 18, 2025. This significant event will gather experts from various Russian regions, member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and other nations to engage in discussions across 120 planned sessions.

The Afghan Ministry of Industry and Commerce has officially confirmed the country’s participation in this prestigious forum and expo. Abdul Salam Javad Akhundzada, the ministry’s spokesperson, announced that Minister Nooruddin Azizi is enthusiastic about showcasing Afghan products at the event. He has been in discussions with private sector representatives who are equally eager to take part.

The Kazan Halal Expo is renowned as Russia’s largest trading platform catering to Muslim consumers, featuring thousands of products that adhere to Halal standards from around the globe. This annual event not only highlights the diversity of Halal goods but also fosters international trade relations.

In a recent statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of Russia’s long standing friendly relations with Muslim countries. He expressed appreciation for their commitment to an independent foreign policy and their growing influence in global affairs. “Together, we advocate for a democratic multipolar world order, grounded in the rule of law and justice, free from dictatorship and discrimination,” he stated.

Putin further expressed confidence that the forum would be both meaningful and constructive, fostering an atmosphere of openness and trust. He believes it will enhance the friendship and collaborative spirit between Russia and participating nations, paving the way for expanded cooperation in trade, investment, sports, and tourism.
